Ocelli - term used to describe a round pattern or eye-like blotches/spots.
Ocular
Pertaining to the eye(s). From the Latin ""oculus"" meaning eye.
Ocular Scale

A transparent scale formed above the eye of snakes (and in some lizards) that allows for vision but protects the eye from the elements. See also Brille and Spectacle.

A transition during development for instance a neonates blotched pattern and an adults striped appearance.

The process of a developmental change for instance proportionally large eyes of a neonate and their comparatively reduced size in an adult.

Snake eater. Most snake eaters (if not all) will actually eat mammals and reptiles but a large proportion of their diets comprise of reptiles.

Opisthoglyphic

Snakes that posses enlarged rear teeth often called rear fanged. Usually they have a means for venom to travel into wounds either by grooves or partial hollows in the teeth.
